AKS University, Satna Signs MoU with National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India

Satna, June 9, 2026: In a significant initiative to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and promote research and skill development in the cement and construction sector, AKS University, Satna, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB), Ballabgarh, Haryana, at a function held at the NCB campus.
NCB is an apex research organization functioning under the administrative control of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, and is engaged in research, technology development, training, consultancy, and industrial services for the cement, concrete, and building materials industries.
The MoU was formally signed by Shri Anant Kumar Soni, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, AKS University, Satna, and Dr. L. P. Singh, Director General, NCB, Ballabgarh, on 9 June 2026.
The collaboration aims to promote academic excellence, research cooperation, and capacity building in the fields of Cement Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, and other allied disciplines.
As part of the agreement, students of AKS University will have opportunities for internship training, industrial exposure, and access to advanced research facilities at NCB. A key feature of the collaboration is the provision of specialized training for Cement Technology students on the state-of-the-art NCB Cement Simulator, enabling them to gain practical exposure to modern cement manufacturing processes.
The MoU also envisages sharing of laboratory and library facilities, exchange of scientific knowledge and expertise, and the joint organization of seminars, workshops, training programmes, and national and international conferences in areas of mutual interest.
A noteworthy provision of the agreement is the recognition of NCB as an external research centre of AKS University. This will facilitate registration of NCB scientists and engineers for Ph.D. programmes at AKS University under joint supervision from both institutions, in accordance with UGC guidelines.
The collaboration is expected to foster innovation, strengthen industry-oriented research, and create enhanced academic and professional opportunities for students, scholars, and researchers. AKS University will also extend support in promoting NCB’s prestigious Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Cement Technology among aspiring students from Satna and other regions.
Representatives of both institutions expressed confidence that the partnership would contribute significantly to the development of highly skilled manpower, advancement of research, and technological growth in the cement and construction sectors.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Prof. G. C. Mishra, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Quality Assurance & Accreditation), AKS University, Satna, and Dr. Kapil Kukreja, HOC-CME, NCB, Ballabgarh.
The MoU shall remain effective for an initial period of five years and may be extended further by mutual consent of both institutions.
