Satna, Madhya Pradesh — In a step towar gvd promoting sustainable agricultural practices, the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at AKS University organized a practical demonstration on the preparation of organic manure “Amrit Sanjeevni.”

The activity was successfully carried out by B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture 8th semester students, Kumari Srishti Tyagi and Master Aryan Mishra, with the valuable assistance of Master Rahul Kalar. The program was conducted under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Sugyata Shivhare, Head of the Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (FAST).
“Amrit Sanjeevni” is an eco-friendly and nutrient-rich organic manure known for enhancing soil fertility, boosting microbial activity, and strengthening plant immunity. It is a low-cost natural farming input, similar to formulations used in Zero Budget Natural Farming, prepared from locally available materials such as cow dung, urine, jaggery, and pulse flour, thereby reducing cultivation costs and improving long-term sustainability. Farmers benefit from lower expenses, reduced dependency on markets, and improved profitability in agriculture.

Dr. Shivhare highlighted that field studies under natural farming practices show a 10–20% yield increase in crops like wheat and paddy when using Amrit Sanjeevni as manure, depending on soil and management conditions. She emphasized the growing importance of organic farming and encouraged students to adopt sustainable methods that reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers. Such initiatives not only improve soil health but also contribute to environmental conservation and long-term agricultural productivity.
Preparing Amrit Sanjeevni was a valuable learning experience for students. They gained practical knowledge of natural farming and low-cost inputs, improved teamwork skills, and developed greater awareness of soil health and sustainability. The students sincerely thanked Dean Agriculture Dr. A. K. Bhowmick and Dr. Neeraj Verma, head of agriculture, for their continuous support and cooperation.
