Prof. (Dr.) Kamlesh Choure, Head of the Department of Biotechnology at AKS University, Satna, was invited to deliver an oral research talk at the prestigious Rhizosphere 6 International Conference hosted by the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. The talk was delivered on 18 June 2025 and was chaired by Prof. Tim George of the University of Edinburgh.
Prof. Choure’s presentation focused on the topic “Role of Endophytic Bacteria in Controlling Biotic Stress and Enhancing Banana Crop Production”. The research is particularly centered on the biological control of Fusarium wilt disease in the Musa acuminata G9 banana cultivar and its functional genomic insights. Co-authors Mahi Choure, Shilpi Singh, and Piyush Kant Rai contributed significantly to the study.
The research received special appreciation from the scientific community and is considered a noteworthy step towards sustainable and organic agriculture. The formal invitation confirming Prof. Choure’s participation in the five-day conference was extended by Prof. Liz Baggs, Dean of Research at the University of Edinburgh.

During the conference, Prof. Choure also engaged in constructive discussions with leading global scientists and academicians in the field of biotechnology, focusing on advanced research and innovation. As a follow-up to these interactions, an international workshop is planned to be hosted soon at AKS University.
The University of Edinburgh is one of the most prestigious and historic research universities in the United Kingdom, founded in 1582. It is globally recognized for its excellence in research, innovation, and education and ranks 27th in the QS World University Rankings 2025.
The AKS University fraternity expressed immense pride in this international achievement.
