Dr. Kamlesh Choure, a distinguished professor in the Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology, Faculty of Life Sciences & Technology at AKS University, Satna, has been officially invited to deliver an oral presentation at the Rhizosphere 6 – Rooting for Earth International Conference, to be held from 15–19 June 2025 at the University of Edinburgh, UK.
The international conference brings together global experts to discuss cutting-edge research on the rhizosphere—the dynamic interface between plant roots, soil, and microorganisms—which is pivotal to sustainable agriculture and environmental health.
Dr. Choure’s presentation, titled “Role of bacterial endophyte in biocontrol of Fusarium oxysporum wilt of Musa acuminata G9 and its functional genomic study,” has been selected for an oral talk session after a competitive abstract review process. The research highlights the potential of endophytic bacteria in managing devastating plant diseases such as Fusarium wilt in bananas, a major concern for global banana production.
In a formal letter, Professor Liz Baggs, Dean of Research at the University of Edinburgh and a member of the Rhizosphere 6 organising committee, extended the invitation to Dr. Choure, affirming his role as a speaker in the conference programme. The invitation not only recognizes the scientific merit of Dr. Choure’s work but also underscores the global relevance of microbial solutions to agricultural challenges.
The event will serve as a platform for Dr. Choure to engage with leading scientists and stakeholders in plant-microbe interactions, exchange knowledge, and explore future collaborations aimed at advancing eco-friendly disease management in crops.
Speaking about the opportunity, Dr. Choure expressed gratitude and emphasized the importance of such international forums in addressing global food
security through innovative biotechnological approaches.
